One of my treasured hats in life is to teach K-2 students in our church AWANA program. This year, one of our big group lessons focused on the below scripture:
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17
I adore this scripture, because it gives me such perspective. I’m reminded to thank God for all the amazing gifts I’m given each day. They are not of my own doing. They are gifts from the One who loves me more than I can even comprehend.
God, who created the stars, the sun, the moon, and God, who is constant, never changing, and God, who did all of this, yet takes the time to shower my life with beautiful blessings–even the ones that come in the form of difficult lessons.
This scripture forces me to take pause and appreciate the author of life itself.
