What’s Five Minute Friday about?
**Do you ever find yourself wishing you could add scripture to your day? What about your child’s day? And if your anything like me, your days are already totally maxed out on time.
Then you’ve come to the right place.
This blog is for that uber-busy parent who could truly benefit from a five minute Bible lesson with your child. Yes, these lessons are literally five minutes long and posted weekly.
That’s something I can get excited about.**
Materials:
Bible
Construction Paper
Colors
Lesson:
After prayer, read John 3:16. Your child may even want to quote it. How cool is that! You can take a minute and ask what he thinks this verse means. We do a similar lesson to this in our AWANA group each year. Now, have your child write the scripture on the construction paper. For a younger child, you can write the verse to save time. Once completed, go through the verse in phrases. Your child can draw a picture above each phrase. For example, above “God so loved,” your child may want to draw and color a heart. This is a very visual verse and works well with this activity. It is a great way to encourage a better understanding of John 3:16. At the end of the lesson, your child will have helpful pictures that illustrate and remind him the meaning of this verse. I pray this lesson is a blessing to you and your family!
Happy drawing, and as always, happy reading!
