What’s Five Minute Friday about?
**Do you ever find yourself wishing you could add scripture to your day? What about your child’s day? And if your anything like me, your days are already totally maxed out on time.
Then you’ve come to the right place.
This blog is for that uber-busy parent who could truly benefit from a five minute Bible lesson with your child. Yes, these lessons are literally five minutes long and posted weekly.
That’s something I can get excited about.**
Materials:
Bible
Two balls to represent the moon and the earth
Flashlight
Lesson:
During our last Five Minute Friday, we discussed James 1:17 and how all of our gifts come from God. Today we’re going to discuss the second part of this verse. After prayer, read James 1:17. You may want to take a minute to review the previous lesson. Now, talk about God being the Father of lights. Which lights? Will your children think about the planets and the stars? Explain that God is unchanging, unlike, for example, a solar eclipse. This is a fun time to illustrate this concept. Go into a dark room. Have your children help hold the flashlight for the sun and a ball for the earth. Then, have a ball act as the moon and block the sun’s light to illustrate a solar eclipse. God isn’t like this. God doesn’t change. How wonderful it is to know our God is always there for us!
I pray that this lesson is a blessing to you and your family!
Happy illustrating, and as always, happy reading!
