Somehow, the Month of Love has already snuck up on us again! It’s full of hearts, valentines, all things that glitter, and parties. But why not books?
Below is a fun list of children’s books for you and your kiddos to enjoy during February!
1. Clifford’s Valentines by Norman Bridwell
I’ve always been a Clifford fan. I love the premise of an enormous dog, doing all the regular dog things. I think it makes for imaginative and fun reading. In this book, Clifford works to give others a special valentine.
2. Guess How Much I Love You by Sam McBratney
This classic book will absolutely warm your heart. The text is beautiful, as are the illustrations. Each time my children and I read this book, it is truly a memorable experience.
3. Little Blue Truck’s Valentine by Alice Schertle
I am a sucker for Little Blue Truck. He is such a fun, adventerous character.
4. Bad Kitty Does Not Like Valentine’s Day by Nick Bruel
Who doesn’t like Bad Kitty? Goodness, this character keeps kids laughing until the final page. Nick Bruel has done it again with this holiday book.
5. Nate the Great and the Mushy Valentine by Marjorie Weinman Sharmat
This is a stellar series for the young mystery lovers in your life. I love that valentines are the “mushy” stuff in this book. That is SO many kids. And getting the dog involved? Perfection.
6. Happy Valentine’s Day, Mouse! by Laura Numeroff
For being rather small, Mouse is quite a large character. 🙂 I love the friendship element. Mouse really knows his friends well. This is a fantastic book for younger readers.
7. Valentine’s Day Disaster by Geronimo Stilton
This book has oodles of drama, mystery, and VOICE. Readers can enjoy reading independently or aloud with others. The main character is so interesting, and kids will enjoy knowing him better and better!
Happy reading!
