Hello, March!
I love this month. Spring Break is just around the corner, along with St. Patrick’s Day! If you’re a bit like me and look forward to that fun, all-the-green-things holiday, below is a list of children’s books for you and your family to enjoy this month!
There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Clover! by Lucille Colandro
I’m a sucker for There Was an Old Lady books. They are often unpredictable, wild, and loads of fun. I always close the final page with a laugh and feeling refreshed.
How to Catch a Leprechaun by Adam Wallace
This is a light-hearted, fast-paced read. The illustrations are FANTASTIC and absolutely VIBRANT. I very much appreciate this story’s creativity, and it just may inspire some interesting STEM activity from your kids.
The Berenstain Bears’ St. Patrick’s Day by Mike Berenstain
I am a big fan of the Berenstain Bear books. These books really have that wholesome feeling down. The illustrations are beautifully detailed, and the story is fun and informational. Do note that this is a bit of a longer picture book, so very little ones may not make it for the whole story, or you might find yourself doing a bit of paraphrasing.
The Night Before St. Patrick’s Day by Natasha Wing
This is a very cute rhyming story. Many kids will recognize the play on The Night Before Christmas. I love the idea of trying to catch a tricky leprechaun. The illustrations are soft and as whimsical as the text.
Happy reading!
