This time of year, is definitely my favorite.
The temps are beginning to cool. The store shelves are splattered in orange and brown (although what’s up with some of the red and green already?!), and I find myself grabbing recipes with ingredients, like, cinnamon and nutmeg.
Fall has arrived.
My family is also hitting the vitamins and probiotics, but that is a whole other conversation. 😊
Yes, I’m choosing to linger on that splattering of orange and brown, and included in that splatter, are so, so many fall books. I smile just thinking about it. Let’s celebrate the month of October, the month that seems to usher in the fall activities, and what better way to celebrate a month than a list of books to enjoy with your family.
Happy reading!

This book celebrates fall with our senses, including feeling the warmth of a sweater and listening to the blowing of the wind. How beautiful! Reading this story with little ones can truly become a treasured moment.
Goodness, what vibrancy! I love the idea of October having a party and enjoying all that the month has to offer. Readers will be swept into the whimsy of the changing season by the exciting hustle and bustle of this book’s creatures, and wow, aren’t the illustrations so impressive!
This is such a beloved series, and with so many attending fall festivals, this addition to the series will be no exception. When Little Critter picks apples, enjoys a hayride, and chooses the best pumpkin, readers are reminded just why they, too, love fall festivals. Add this story to your family’s day, especially just before attending a fall festival and provide an even richer experience.
I love this idea, and I love to visit the zoo in the fall. The animals always seem to be more active. Why not read this story, visit the zoo, and stop by the grocery store (or your favorite place) to snag a pumpkin! And just like that, you have an entire day planned with the family–a day of fall fun that will not soon be forgotten.
