Five Minute Friday – Easter!

Posted on March 30, 2018 by admin

What’s Five Minute Friday about?

**Do you ever find yourself wishing you could add scripture to your day? What about your child’s day? And if your anything like me, your days are already totally maxed out on time.

Then you’ve come to the right place.

This blog is for that uber-busy parent who could truly benefit from a five-minute Bible lesson with your child. Yes, these lessons are literally five minutes long and posted weekly.

That’s something I can get excited about.**

Easter!

Materials:

Bible

Chalk or Erasable Marker

Board

Lesson:

You may want to read Matthew 26-28 before this lesson. If you think your child can hang during these chapters, please, do read together. If not (and no worries, as they are little), discuss the crucifixion and resurrection in these chapters.

Read Romans 4:25. Ask child what he or she thinks this means. It is so interesting to hear children define big concepts. They can often tell you the meaning and in a brilliantly simple way.

Have your child color in the board. Explain that this is a picture of our sin. Then, have them erase the image. This is what Jesus did for us. He took the punishment for our sin when he died on the cross, and like this board, he made us clean. It is a beautiful gift that we did nothing to deserve.

Good Friday is such a special time to remember what Jesus endured for us, and Easter is an amazing celebration of his miraculous resurrection. I pray that your family’s weekend is especially meaningful.

Happy Easter, and as always, happy reading!
