A List of Children’s Books to Read in April

Spring is in full swing around my house. The surrounding nature is lush and green. The birds are singing. The precious, little, cotton-tail bunnies are making more appearances.

And the allergies are quite strong.

Yes, we are definitely knee-deep in spring. 🙂

Well, let’s continue our celebration of this truly bright season with a list of children’s books to read with your family during April.

Happy reading!

Bravo, Little Bird! by Annie Silvestro

I just so happen to read this story for the first time a few weeks ago. With a beautifully singing bird, this is such an appropriate book for April. It does tackle the rather difficult topic of loss, and, I must say, the author addresses this so very well.

The Horseback Librarians by Jane Yolen

I included this book because April 16th is National Librarian Day. What a cool story that shares how librarians rode horseback to deliver books in Appalachia during the Great Depression. That’s dedication!

Worm Weather by Jean Taft

This is just such a cute book. How lovely to romp and play and think of a season as one experience after the next! The illustrations will definitely keep the attention of both young and less young readers. 🙂

Home for a Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown

I had to include this beautiful classic. This story is a wonderful celebration of spring and includes absolutely stunning illustrations. I always feel warmer after reading it.
