Five Minute Friday – Obey Your Parents

What’s Five Minute Friday about?

**Do you ever find yourself wishing you could add scripture to your day? What about your child’s day? And if your anything like me, your days are already totally maxed out on time.

Then you’ve come to the right place.

This blog is for that uber-busy parent who could truly benefit from a five-minute Bible lesson with your child. Yes, these lessons are literally five minutes long and posted weekly.

That’s something I can get excited about.**

Obey Your Parents

Materials:

Bible

Paper

Pencil

Lesson:

Ask child why he or she should obey you. Answers will most likely be interesting. 🙂 Now, read Ephesians 6:1-3. God is pleased when children obey their parents. It is right in God’s eyes. He even makes a promise that a child who does this will live longer. This part might blow your child’s mind.

Have child gather the paper and pencil. Create a list of chores for the week. When children work and help in this way, they are obeying their parents.

You may remind children as they complete the list throughout the week that they are being obedient and right, according to the scriptures.

Happy list-making, and as always, happy reading!!
