What’s Five Minute Friday about?

**Do you ever find yourself wishing you could add scripture to your day? What about your child’s day? And if your anything like me, your days are already totally maxed out on time.

Then you’ve come to the right place.

This blog is for that uber-busy parent who could truly benefit from a five-minute Bible lesson with your child. Yes, these lessons are literally five minutes long and posted weekly.

That’s something I can get excited about.**

 

Jesus and the Fish

 

Materials:

Bible

Goldfish

 

Lesson:

Read Luke 5:1-10. Discuss this amazing miracle and the unmatched power of Jesus. The fisherman had worked so hard and caught nothing, but after Jesus’ instruction, their nets were so full that the boats began to sink. Amazing! I did this lesson last week with our AWANA group. We had the most wonderful conversation. In the final verse, Jesus tells the fishermen that they will catch men. We talked about what that sounds like, and what it means. One of our boys got all excited, telling us about the fishing trips he has with his grandfather. It was not only adorable, but the perfect segue to explain that fishing men for Christ is so exciting!

You can then enjoy a nice goldfish snack to end the lesson.
