Five Minute Friday — God Loves You

What’s Five Minute Friday about?
**Do you ever find yourself wishing you could add scripture to your day? What about your child’s day? And if your anything like me, your days are already totally maxed out on time.
Then you’ve come to the right place.
This blog is for that uber-busy parent who could truly benefit from a five-minute Bible lesson with your child. Yes, these lessons are literally five minutes long and posted weekly.
That’s something I can get excited about.**

Materials:

Farthing picture

Lesson:

After prayer, begin by reading Matthew 10:29-31. Discuss this verse. Do your children know what a sparrow and farthing are? This is a great time to show the picture print-outs to solidify the meanings of what might be unusual words for your kiddos.

Two sparrows were sold for a coin that was valued even less than a penny, yet God knows when these birds fall. And we are more valuable than sparrows. Wow, what love.

The idea that God knows the number of hairs on our heads blows my mind. Do discuss how amazingly wonderful this is. There are an estimated 7.5 billion people on our planet. God knows how many hairs are on all of our heads. God created us, and He loves us. How special it is to be loved by God, to know that He is there for us, guiding us. A very simple, yet effective activity is to have each child try and count the hairs on his or her head. That is no easy task! This will reiterate both God’s power and HIs love for His creations.

I pray that this lesson blesses you and your family.

Happy counting, and as always, happy reading!
